History of Panasonic Japan
Call us now book in a unique demonstration

Since 1952, Panasonic has been manufacturing television sets and have often lead the way in quality and design.

Did you know that Panasonic was the first TV manufacturer to move away from the original  "round" shaped TV screen and over to the square/rectangular shape now commonly used for TV sets?

In 1996 after buying into Plasmaco, a company formed by one of the founders of Plasma TV technology, Panasonic released the world's first widescreen plasma TV sized at, a then whopping, 26 inches! Kind of makes you wonder what people will think in 20 years time of Panasonic's 2010 "whopping" 152" inch plasma, doesn't it.

Have you heard of Pioneer's Kuro TV? You know, the plasma displays that truly raised the bar for TV image quality, just a few years ago?

Interestingly, in 2010 Pioneer sold many of their Kuro's patents to Panasonic, and now many of the latest Panasonic Viera plasma panels utilise technology originally used to create the awesome Kuro sets.

And it doesn't stop there either.  Panasonic continues to take great strides to improve their Plasma TVs, giving consumers the best high quality option in large screen Televisions.

"Plasma burn-in" is a thing of the past, and "energy efficiency" has improved so much so that , when compared to same sized plasmas from just 2 years ago, you'll now use up to 40% LESS power with 2011 plasma television models. (comparison done between the 65" VT series from 2009 and 2011 respectively).

Todds Hi-Fi has been in business for 50 years, and we have seen all the consumer display technologies on offer, many of which we have previously sold.  Because we have taken the opportunity to experience and understand what each TV technology offers, only one brand has proven itself in reliability, quality and price, and that is Panasonic's Plasma televisions.

So forget all the fear mongering that makes other display technologies sound so terrific, and actually experience a Panasonic plasma for yourself, at today at Todds Hi-Fi.
